Animated 3D creature extraction from a 2D video

Researchers from the Max Planck Institute released a paper, which is showing the possibilities for extracting an animated 3D creature from a plain video. In order to reconstruct the object, an author has to draw some lines to acquire the axis of the creatures rig.

It’s an impressive example how objects can be extracted from a single 2D video source. Even if the quality is not at production level yet, there are endless possibilities.
